Sound Cell Recording studios were established in 1980 in Huntsville, Alabama. Sound Cell Productions began signing and developing talent in 1983. and was incorporated under Smith Music Group 1991. At the same time, Doug began working as a talent scout for PolyGram Music with the directive and singing power to develop new artists. After several years, offices were maintained in Nashville for years while Sound Cell explored development in special projects with Sony Music and Mercury Records. Today the company is still very active in artist development, and Mr. Smith continues to travel the country, supporting relationships with promising talent.
